Cytokinin
In 1941, J. van overbeek discovered a chemical compound that had An ability to stimulate the growth of endosperm of coconut. The compound Is called cytokinin. The followings are several functions of cytocinin.
- stimulating embryo growth and promoting average growth of cells isolated in laboratory.
- stimulating division on cells that stop doing mitotic division.
- promoting the acceleration of cell division in collaboration with auxin.
- inhibiting color changing on leaf from yellowing after being cut off from the tree.
- Stimulating fruit maturation after cutting off from tree.
- stimulating cell differentiation on meristematic tissues.
- Stimulating lateral bud development.
Etylene (ethene - CH"CH)
The influence Of etylene on banana ripening
(a) the banana's etytene,
(b) etyLene reteased by the orange, and
(c) etytene from chemicaI glass.

Etylene gas is necessary to accelerate fruit ripening, respiration, and left fall. The location of the forming of ethylene is different in every fruit, some are on the fruit tip (for example, papaya), another is on the lower end of the fruit (for example, mango).
Abscisic Acid
The function of abscisic acid is to inhibit stem growth process (inhibitor) and to stimulate seed 'dormancy. That condition can be advantagous for the plants. that live in four season countries. In winter, the plant will be protected from physical damage due to low temperature.
Caline
The function of caline is in the formation of plant branch organs. Based on the influenced organs, there are several types of caline. For example, antocaline is necessary in the formation of flower; phylokalin is necessary in the formation of leaf; caulocaline is required in the formation of stem; and rhizocaline is required in the formation of root.
