Structure And Function Of Cell Organelle Micro Body

Microbody is a small organelle covered by one layer of membrane. The size is similar with lysosome’s size. The example of micro body are peroxisome and glyoxisome.

1. Perixisome function in lipid metabolism into carbohydrate. In animal, peroxisome is saved in liver and kidney, whereas in plant, it can be found in various types of cell.
2. Glyoxisome is found mostly in plant tissues containing lipid. It consist of an enzyme that can convert lipid in to sugar.
