Skeletal system
1. As a body support and giving shape on the body.
2. Protecting internal vital organ, for example the skull protecting the brain.
3. Producing blood cells.
4. Storing mineral and fat.
5. As a movement organ and an attachement point for muscle.
Almost EveryTime, ours body carries out movement, such as walking, jumping, even when we are sleeping, we carry out movement involving work coordination among the movement system organ. How is the structure and function of human movement system?
Human and vertebrates have an ability to move some part or the whole of their body. Each movement, either the complex or even the simplest one, such as winking eyes, involves the work of various kinds of tissue. The movement ability is caused by muscle activity, such as contraction and loosening (relaxation) or coordination between muscular system and skeletal system.
Skeletal system
The human skeletal system is internal skeleton or endoskeleton. The skeletal system is composed of various types of bones which can not move actively. However, the activity of the muscle attaching to bone generates the bones to move. Therefore, skeleton (bone) is known as passive movement organ, while muscle is known as active movement organ.
The human skeletal system functions not only as movement organ. Some other fuction of the skeletal system are as follows.
2. Protecting internal vital organ, for example the skull protecting the brain.
3. Producing blood cells.
4. Storing mineral and fat.
5. As a movement organ and an attachement point for muscle.
