2012 Structure of Connective Tissue
Connective Tissue The function of connective tissues are to bind parts of the body. To support other tissue, and to cover internal organs. The tissue is derived from mesechyme, which is a group of cell in connective tissue of embryo derived from mesoderm. Structure of Connective Tissue Connective Tissue consist of connective tissue cell and matrix.
The fibers of connective tissue comprise collagen fibers (white fibers), elastic fibers (yellow fibers), and reticular fibers that have net-like structure. The ground substances of connective tissue are amorphous, colorless, and homogeneous, which function in filling intercellular spaces and connective tissue fibers.

- Connective tissue cell Connective tissue cell are composed of differentiated cells embedded in matrix. The cell consist of fibroblast, chondroblast, macrophage, fatty cell (adipocyte), leukocyte, and osteoblast.
- Matrix The matrix is connective tissue is composed of extracellular material secreted by connective tissue cell which consist of fibers and ground substance.
